Model Magic + 1st Graders = :)

1st graders are using Model Magic to create a one-of-a-kind form.  Model Magic air dries, bounces, and mixes.  Students practiced mixing combinations of the primary colors (red, yellow, blue) to make the secondary colors of orange, green, and violet.

Pop Art Sculptures!

These photos show 4th graders proudly displaying their sculptures from 3rd grade.  This years 3rd grade project will start late November or early December.  Last year I opened the art room up for parent volunteers to assist students with their ambitious projects.  The experiment was a HUGE success.  Volunteers are needed again this year.  I'll send a message out to parents via email or a letter home providing detailed information about the project later on this month.

Right now volunteers are underway painting the misfit desks that are stored above the loft in the elementary art room.    A yard sale of the desks are forecasted for late Spring.  The funds raised by the sale of the desks will be used to replace the cracked and chipped art room tables.  In addition to the yard sale, a small number of desks will be auctioned off.  Contact me if you would like volunteer your artistic abilities to this charitable project.
